PE Exams

Engineers graduating from accredited universities in many countries around the world who wish to work on projects that affect public safety are required to obtain a professional license. In this regard, graduates of engineering programs, who have a number of years of experience practicing engineering work that requires applying engineering principles in design, evaluation, providing consultations, or supervising work that affects the public interest, are required to pass a standardized test called PE Engineering Practice Test.

According to the system of practicing the profession of the Saudi Council of Engineers, passing the test is considered one of the conditions required to be achieved in order to promote an engineer to the rank of professional engineer. The Authority also required, in addition to passing the test, the availability of practical experience of no less than eight years after obtaining the academic degree.

The responsibilities entrusted to the professional engineer include: Preparing and providing engineering services in the field of his engineering specialization, signing reports and plans with direct and indirect responsibility, training engineers to the rank of associate engineer or less, carrying out engineering arbitration and dispute resolution, and managing engineering services contracts, in addition to assuming leadership tasks and responsibilities.

The test aims to measure the engineer's ability to apply his knowledge and experience in practicing engineering work consistent with his educational qualification and practical experience, professionally and professionally. The test also aims to measure the engineer's knowledge of the professional rules, regulations, and ethical behavior regulating the practice of the engineering profession.
