Saudi Council for Engineers (SCE) launches new Saudi engineer’s empowerment programs

Saudi Council for Engineers (SCE) has launched a new package of free and supported programs and training courses. This initiative is based on SCE’s strategic transformation plan, which aims to develop engineers, increase their technical and professional competence, and periodically update them through specialized engineering courses, such as “Facilities Management Essentials” course. 19 engineers have benefited from this new course for beginners, engineers, developers and operators. They received the Certified Facilities Manager Certificate developed in collaboration with the Middle East Facilities Management Association.

SCE has conducted summer program in cooperation with the Saudi Electricity Company. The program targeted newly graduated students in the fields of electrical and mechanical engineering. Each specialization included 10 courses of 8 weeks, including field visits.

The newly graduated students qualifying program, which was organized by SCE in cooperation with the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) in Jubail, is one of the supported programs in four engineering disciplines: electrical, mechanical, chemical, equipment engineering and control, aiming to develop the efficiency and effectiveness of trainees, and raise their capacity, according to the requirements of the labor market.

SCE training programs offer specialized and general courses in various engineering fields, including PMP course, which aims to manage projects, explain planning, control, and closure processes, as well as GIS course, which teaches the trainee to collect, enter, analyze, display and produce spatial and descriptive information for specific objectives.

SCE has designed training courses for male engineers including: “Development of Project Specs” course to enable the trainee to properly write the project specifications, avoid errors, focus on importance, classification and practical training. This is in addition to the "Basics of Remote Sensing" course, to identify the concept and types of remote sensing, and how to download digital heights models, and improve visualizations and technical editing.
Courses in the "architectural photoshop," and "principles of interior design," were dedicated to women so that the trainee will be able to use drawing and design, facades and sectors, and showing architectural details programs.
