Saudi Council of Engineers and Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources: Strengthening Cooperation to Achieve Vision 2030

Riyadh — In a significant meeting, His Excellency Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, welcomed Eng. Ahmed Alshaikh, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Eng. Abdulmohsen Almajnouni, Secretary-General of the Saudi Council of Engineers, at the Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh.

During the discussions, Chairman Eng. Ahmed Alshaikh emphasized the critical importance of collaboration between the Council and the Ministry, highlighting its vital role in advancing the industrial and mining sectors. He, along with Secretary-General Eng. Abdulmohsen Almajnouni, expressed their gratitude to the Minister for his continued support and willingness to engage in meaningful dialogue.

Secretary-General Eng. Abdulmohsen Almajnouni provided further insight into the visit, which focused on enhancing mutual understanding on several key issues. Central topics included ensuring that industrial facilities across the Kingdom comply with engineering regulations and quality standards, with the goal of boosting efficiency in factories and companies to achieve national industrial sector objectives.


The meeting also featured a detailed overview of the Saudi Council of Engineers, underscoring the importance of official registration, occupational classification, and the regulation of engineering professions. The Council shared its initiatives, including professional tests and training programs aimed at developing and qualifying engineering personnel.

As part of its supervisory role, the Council conducts inspections to ensure that engineers, offices, and companies maintain professional standards. The Council remains committed to upholding the quality of engineering work in the Kingdom and holding violators accountable.​
