The Saudi Engineers Authority, in collaboration with the participating entities in the Permanent Coordinating Committee for the Development of the Contracting Sector, has launched guideline manuals to enhance the quality of the Saudi Building Code system. These manuals are part of the committee's initiatives to develop the construction and building sector in the Kingdom.

Engineer Abdulnasser Al-Abdulatif, Secretary-General of the Saudi Engineers Authority, explained that the Authority prepared the guideline manuals in cooperation with all relevant government entities. He stated that the manuals aim to improve the work of the Saudi code for residential buildings, in addition to the Authority's commitment to providing best practices and information that can assist engineering firms, contracting companies, inspectors, and professional examiners in enhancing and sustaining their engineering work.

He indicated that the guideline manuals contain explanations of the required regulations and procedures, along with illustrative images and drawings that comply with engineering practices. They also include measurement units and mathematical equations to enrich service providers and practitioners in this field with the necessary knowledge and guidance, providing them with manuals that supply all data and guidelines to support beneficiaries and enhance their readiness to implement the requirements of the Saudi Building Code. The Authority aims, through these manuals, to create a fundamental reference that serves this sector.
