SCE: THE BULDING CODE COURCES AIMES TO TRAIN 1000 ENGINGEERS

SCE will hold multiple courses on Saudi building code in cooperation with the national committee for the Saudi building code during this September, as the first courses were held online for five days with the participation of approximately 50 engineers.

The spokesperson of SCE Eng. Abdulalnasser bin Al-Abdulatif confirmed that the council scheduled many courses that contribute to the improvement of the engineers' skills and knowledge about the Saudi building code requirements, which also aims to raise the quality of building constructions in the kingdom. He praised the role and the participation of the engineers in the implementation of the code and the commitment to its standards, tools and to improve buildings' quality to create the desired urban renaissance.

The first course was about the Saudi Building Code (SBC 301), it included loads and powers. Participants were introduced to the standards, metrology, and requirements of the Saudi Power and loading code, and they were also introduced to the components of the code and ways of mastering the design and the construction of buildings, as they were informed with the appropriate way of calculating any type of loads as well as the method of calculating powers and identifying the wind Loads and the components of building facades.

Al-Abdulatif clarified that the training plans of the council will provide a range of courses that aims to train 1000 Engineers. The second course will be held starting from Sunday the 30th of August about the Saudi Building Code that is focused on the Saudi Sanitary Code- plumbing. The general Saudi building course will also be held on the 6th and 27th of September for 5 days to transfer knowledge and to benefit the engineers.

He pointed out that SCE works towards providing developmental and training courses using several digital services that facilitate the registration and the enrollment for the courses and providing a platform to pursue the courses "online" according to the highest requirements and standards.
