SCE agreed with the General Directorate of Civil Defense to lay down a mechanism of qualifying and accrediting Saudi engineers in the safety and fire protection field in a program ending with appointment. In addition to qualifying engineering offices to exercise the engineering consulting activity of fire protection to overcome difficulties and ensure the quality of engineering work deliverables.
 
This was during the meeting of Dr. Jamil Jarallah Al-Bagawi, SCE Board Chairman with Major General Hamad Abdel Azeez Al Mubaddel, Deputy GM of General Directorate of Civil Defense at his office at the Directorate headquarters in the City of Riyadh.
  
Dr. Jamil Jarallah Al-Bagawi explained that SCE and General Directorate of Civil Defense is looking forward to preparing and implementing specialized programs in the fire protection field to qualify Saudi engineers in this field in order to meet the need of engineering offices and contractors companies with qualified engineers who are able to satisfy conditions and requirements of fire prevention and protection to achieve the General Directorate of Civil Defense’s message and ensure the protection of life and property.
 
Al Bagawi said that SCE will finance programs in the fire prevention and protection field and will invite Saudi engineers to join such programs on various phases. The first phase will be conducting a program ending with the appointment of 40 Saudi male engineers and 10 Saudi female engineers. In addition to evaluation and follow-up of the program by evaluating the program's scientific content, trainers and trainees, and evaluating tests of passing the program. Furthermore; working on the development of the program through the data of the previous paragraph and start delivering it to the largest number of Saudi male and female engineers.
 
Al Bagawi pointed out that the program will be launched soon so that the engineer will be trained and qualified to complete the program requirements in the field of safety and fire protection engineering, including a specialized test. Moreover, according to the contents of the Practice of Engineering Professions Regulating Law and Executive Regulations thereof, SCE will also grant engineers who pass the program the professional accreditation in the safety and fire protection field. Al Bagawi also added that the General Directorate of Civil Defense in coordination with the Central Security Licensing Unit will accept SCE-accredited engineers as safety and fire protection engineers as stipulated in Practice of Engineering Professions Regulating Law regarding the safety and fire protection.
