The Board of Directors of the Saudi Council of Engineers Approves the Establishment of Three New Engineering Departments at its 18th Meeting

The Saudi Council of Engineers' Board of Directors held its 18th annual meeting; in its fifth session, at its main office in Dammam, the Eastern Province; headed by Dr. Jamil Al-Baqaawi, Chairman of the Board, and attended by Eng. Soliman Al-Amood, Secretary General of the Council, and the General Directors.
The Council members have discussed the strategies developed and what has been achieved during the last period, in addition to the initiatives undertaken by the Council to implement its strategic transformation plan in the current session.
The Board has issued several resolutions during the meeting; the most important of which is increasing support of training courses provided by the Council in different cities and regions within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in all engineering departments, as a contribution to develop the Saudi engineers via providing free of charge or reduced fee training courses for them, and to qualify them to enter the labor market of engineering professions.
They have also reviewed the report submitted by the Organizing Committee of the International Engineering Conference, which will be held on December in Riyadh, to present their views on the progress in preparing for holding the conference and the accompanying exhibition on time.
The Council has also approved on establishing three new engineering specializations; Urban Planning and Designing, Electronics and Information Security. Members of these departments will be formed later, as they will provide the required scientific addition together with the outstanding engineering specializations; through research, seminars and lectures held by each department in its field of specialization.
