The Ministry of Labor and Social Development and the
Saudi Council of Engineers have agreed on stopping the recruitment of engineers of professional
experience less than 5 years . In addition, the new coming engineers have been
required to undergo a professional test and an interview, by the Council, to
ensure their acquaintance with the profession and their specialties.
Dr. Gamil bin Garallah Al-Baqaawi, Chairman of the
Council, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Qattan, Vice-Minister of Labor and Social Development
for Labor Policies, have pointed out that this decision has been taken by the
Ministry and the Council to give the chance for Saudi engineers to work in the
field of engineering at the governmental and the private sectors, and to
empower and provide them with the necessary experience in the labor market.
They have indicated that the experience required from the
new coming engineers must be certified in the engineering field. The Engineer
is responsible for the misrepresented information.
This decision followed a previous decision by the Saudi
Council of Engineers, which was implemented a few months ago, by requiring a
three-year-experience, an interview and a professional test, as a minimum for
any new comer recruited in KSA.
