“Council of Ministers” determines the scope of supervision of MCI on SCE

​The Council of Ministers decided to determine the scope of supervision of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) on the Council. Such scope is provided for in Article (One) of the Statue of Council, in the session headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – May Allah protect him - and convened by the Council of Ministers in Al-Salam Palace, in Jeddah, on Monday, 28 Shaaban 1436H, corresponding to 15 June 2015G.

After reviewing the document submitted by Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI), the decision incudes reviewing all regulations related to the Statute of the Council after approving such regulations by the General Assembly and ensuring their compliance with the provisions of Statue. The decision also provides the Council with a copy of the final accounts, after being approved, and a copy of administrative and financial decisions. In addition, the decision states that necessary measures, mechanisms and procedures shall be taken, including the request of Council of Ministers to dissolve the Board of Directors of the Council and appoint a temporary board of directors for one year if the term of the Board expires and the General Assembly is not able to elect a new board of directors, or a defect, which hinders the work of the Council, occurs.
